Foraging for Art
This FREE on foot art class will be a walk around the neighborhood for inspiration! We will begin at the PHCA office then go throughout the neighborhood looping back towards the office at the end. The idea is a bit abstract; you can do photography as we walk, look for found objects to make art on your own time and we will be stopping at three places for about 15 mins each to draw, take pictures or write out your ideas for your future creative endeavors!
The first stop will be West Penn Park, the second a set of less-trafficked city steps and the third will be the green space on Melwood.
When we meet at the PHCA office we will provide clip boards and drawing materials. Please bring your phone (for photography), camera, found art collection bags or anything else you would like to be creative with! Masks are required and you must remain socially distant. Best for ages 16+

May Community Meeting
This month, we will feature our District 7 Councilwoman Deb Gross, who will be sharing about the city's budget and how individuals and communities can get involved in the shaping of it.
We'll also have a fascinating presentation from neighbor Virginia Paul on mosquito prevention. Given mosquitos are not only a nuisance but also continue to be vectors of disease (like how West Nile is found in Allegheny County each year), neighborhood prevention is very important.
Also, there will be an update about the renovations needed on the PHCA's building.
As always, we'll have updates from our committees, including Housing and Development, Green Team, Arts Team, Traffic & Pedestrian Safety and Friends of West Penn Park. And the sharing of the organization's financial report.
